| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Diocletian facing right, rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style. The paludamentum is fastened at the shoulder, with one fillet of the laurel wreath falling straight down behind the neck and the other swept forward over the shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the effigy in Greek characters, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
