Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Diocletian facing right, rendered in the Romano-Egyptian provincial style. The effigy displays a radiate crown of laurel leaves with fine detailing, and the imperial mantle is drawn across the left shoulder. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in his full imperial titulature, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is bold and characteristic of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage of the late third century, with strong facial modeling typical of the period.
