Reverse description Poseidon Pelagaios standing nude in three-quarter view, facing left, his right foot raised and resting on a rocky promontory, his right arm extended forward holding a trident set vertically in the right field. The god's muscular figure is rendered with dynamic Hellenistic naturalism. A Boeotian shield device appears in the lower field as the mint symbol of Thebes. The Greek royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to the right and ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ to the left flanks the central figure in two vertical columns.
