Obverse description Heroic head of Heracles in right profile, youthful and beardless, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, the gaping jaws framing the forehead and the mane cascading in flowing locks behind the neck. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic modeling of the facial features, prominent brow, and sharply defined eye. No legend appears in the field.
