Obverse description Diademed and horned head of Demetrius I Poliorcetes facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with bold high relief. The hair is elaborately rendered in flowing locks swept back from the forehead, with the royal diadem tied at the nape. A bull's horn, symbol of divine power and his epithet 'Poliorcetes', rises from the forehead above the diadem. The effigy displays strong, idealized facial features characteristic of the Successor period portraiture, with a pronounced brow and firm jawline. A dotted border encircles the field.
