Obverse description Diademed head of Demetrios I Poliorketes facing right, rendered with bold Hellenistic portraiture; a prominent bull's horn — symbolic of divine or heroic status — curves above his forehead. The diadem ties fall behind the neck, and the portrait is executed in high relief characteristic of the Amphipolis mint workshop.
