Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, draped at the shoulder, depicted in the Hellenistic portrait tradition characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The emperor's features are rendered with a strong jaw and tightly curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The Greek legend ΤΙ ΚΛΑΥΔΙ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒΑ ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙ ΑΥΤΟΚΡ runs around the periphery, with the regnal year indicator L Γ (year 3) positioned in the field. The engraving style reflects the provincial workshop of Alexandria, combining Roman imperial iconography with Ptolemaic artistic conventions.
