Obverse description Celticised laureate and bearded head of Zeus facing right, rendered in a bold, abstracted Celtic artistic idiom derived from Macedonian prototypes. The wreath is depicted as a mass of large, schematised leaf forms that dominate the upper field, with individual leaves rendered as broad, rounded lobes. The facial features — including the beard, brow, and eye — are reduced to deeply modelled, flowing curvilinear forms characteristic of La Tène artistic conventions. The neck and lower portion of the bust are partially visible, merging organically with the lower field.
