Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his nude torso rendered in the Hellenistic manner; he extends his right hand forward supporting an eagle with closed wings, and holds a long sceptre vertically in his left hand. A monogram appears in the left field, serving as a mint or magistrate control mark. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right side of the field in Greek characters. The design closely imitates the standard Alexandrine tetradrachm reverse type, struck in the name of Alexander III by the Paeonian king Audoleon.
