Obverse description Diademed bust of Artabanos II facing left, with long wavy hair and a full beard rendered in fine curling strands; the king wears a torque at the neck and a diadem with billowing ends visible behind the head. A date numeral appears to the left of the bust in the field. The portrait is executed in the Hellenistic tradition characteristic of later Parthian tetradrachm coinage, with bold, expressive facial features and detailed hair treatment.
