| Obverse description | Radiate head of Helios depicted in three-quarter facing view turned slightly to the right, rendered in the high-relief Rhodian artistic tradition. The deity's youthful, idealised visage is framed by thick, flowing curls of hair radiating outward from the crown, with prominent straight rays of the solar crown emanating from the head and extending to the coin's edge. The deeply modelled facial features display large almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips, conveying a serene, divine expression characteristic of the finest Hellenistic engraving. |
