Reverse description Stylised horseman riding to right on a prancing horse, depicted in the characteristically abstracted Celtic manner; the rider holds an unidentified object and the horse's mane is rendered as a row of raised pellets. A circular wreath symbol appears in the upper left field, and a branched plant or palm frond is depicted below the horse in the exergual area. The overall composition closely derives from the Macedonian tetradrachm coinage of Philip II, substantially transformed through Celtic artistic conventions.
