Obverse description Diademed and youthful portrait head of Antiochos VIII Epiphanes facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with voluminous wavy hair swept back from the forehead. The royal diadem, tied with a fillet, is clearly visible above the brow, with its ends falling behind the neck. The portrait displays idealized features — a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a softly modeled chin — characteristic of late Seleucid royal portraiture. The effigy is set within a fillet border encircling the coin field. The die work exhibits high relief consistent with the finest tetradrachm coinage of the period.

Reverse description The god Sandan depicted standing right atop a horned and winged lion, which itself stands upon a garlanded altar surmounted by a baldachin (canopy). Sandan is shown in near-frontal or three-quarter stance, holding his characteristic attributes in the Anatolian divine tradition. Two control monograms appear to the outer left of the design in the field. The entire composition is framed by the royal legend inscribed along the upper and lower periphery of the reverse field, with the divine and regal imagery conveying the king's claim to divine epiphany.
