| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing locks of hair visible beneath the Attic helmet, which is adorned with a prominent crest and cheek guards. The goddess's facial features are rendered with naturalistic precision characteristic of late Hellenistic coinage. A monogram appears in the left field, serving as a control mark. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of hammered silver tetradrachms of the period. |

She holds in her extended hand a long sceptre tied with a diadem or fillet. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΜΥΝΤΟΥ runs in the fields, identifying the issuer as King Amyntas. The date numeral ΙΒ (year 12, corresponding to 26–25 BC) appears in the inner left field. |
