Obverse description Celticized head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, the mane rendered in stylized, deeply cut striations characteristic of Eastern Celtic die-cutting. The facial features are abstracted with pronounced rounded cheeks, a broad nose, and a prominent chin, departing from the refined Hellenistic prototype. The lionskin paws are visible knotted at the neck. The field is plain and the flan is slightly irregular, consistent with Celtic hand-struck production.
