Obverse description Youthful beardless head of Heracles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted beneath the chin. The facial features are rendered with fine Hellenistic artistry, conveying idealized heroic beauty. The hair curls naturally at the temple beneath the lion skin. The entire design is set within a characteristic dotted border.
