Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles in right profile, beardless, wearing the lion skin headdress with the scalp secured at the throat by a knotted paw, the open jaws of the lion framing the top of the head. The facial features are rendered with fine Hellenistic artistry, displaying a strong brow, straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The mane and pelt of the lion skin are clearly articulated across the neck and shoulder. The coin is encircled by a dotted border visible along the rim.
