| Obverse description | Youthful bare-shouldered head of Heracles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, with the scalp of the lion's head covering the crown and the paws knotted beneath the chin. The facial features are finely modelled in the Lysippan tradition, conveying idealized heroic youth. The lion's mane is rendered in bold, naturalistic relief, with the pelt draped over the left shoulder. No legend appears on the obverse field. |
