Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a low backless throne, his near-nude body draped with a himation across the lower limbs. His outstretched right hand supports an eagle facing right, while his left hand grasps a long sceptre. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field. In the left field, a caduceus adorned with fillets serves as a mint control symbol, attributing this issue to the Amphipolis mint. The composition is balanced and authoritative, reflecting the canonical reverse type established at the outset of Alexander III's coinage.
