Reverse description An eagle with wings closed stands left atop a palm branch, rendered with careful attention to feather detail in the Ptolemaic-influenced Seleucid style. In the left field, the date numeral ΓΞP (year 163 of the Seleucid Era) appears above a monogram. A trident is placed in the upper right field as an additional control symbol. The reverse legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY, identifying the king, runs in two lines flanking the central device, all within a dotted border.
