| Obverse description | Griffin seated to right in a heraldic pose, with eagle's head, prominent beak, pointed ears, and large spread wings rendered with careful feather detailing. The creature's lion-like body is shown in profile with forelegs extended forward and tail curled upward. The city ethnic ΑΒΔΗΡΙΤΩΝ is inscribed in two registers, with ΑΒΔΗ above the griffin and ΡΙΤΩΝ below, within the flat field. The design is executed in bold, high-relief style characteristic of late Classical Thracian coinage. |
