Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The goddess wears an Attic helmet with a prominent upswept crest, the bowl decorated with an applied laurel wreath above the brow. Flowing locks of hair emerge from beneath the helmet and fall along the neck. The portrait is executed with considerable artistic refinement, displaying well-modelled facial features characteristic of late Hellenistic civic coinage from the Troad.

Reverse description Athena Ilias standing in three-quarter view to the right, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical headdress) and long draped garment, holding a spindle in her extended right hand and a spear in her left. A monogram appears in the inner left field, and a palm branch occupies the inner right field. The encircling Greek legend names the goddess and the issuing magistrate, framing the central cult statue type that was closely associated with the sanctuary at Ilion.
