Obverse description Facing right, the veiled and wreathed head of Kore (Persephone) rendered in fine Hellenistic style, her flowing hair adorned with a wreath of grain ears and secured with a ribbon. She wears a pendant earring, and her features are depicted with exceptional artistry characteristic of Syracusan engraving. The vertical Greek legend ΚΟΡΑΣ appears in the left field, identifying the divinity.
