In his raised right hand he holds a phiale pouring a libation over a lit altar; his left arm cradles a filleted palm branch. To his left, a rooster stands facing left before a second altar. To his right, a selinon (wild parsley) leaf is depicted above a bull standing and facing left, referencing the city's name and fertile river. The retrograde ethnic inscription ΣΕΛ-ΙΝΟΝΤ-Ι-ΟΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing polis. |
