| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned in left-facing three-quarter view, nude to the waist and draped across the lower body, seated upon a high-backed throne. In his outstretched right hand he holds an eagle, while his left hand rests upon a long sceptre. To the left field a forepart of Pegasos is visible as a civic symbol, and in the lower left field a monogram or magistrate's control mark appears beneath the throne. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, and a six-pointed star control mark appears in the lower right exergual area. The composition follows the standard posthumous Alexandrine reverse type as issued by autonomous Lesbian civic mints. |
