| Obverse description | Fast quadriga driven to the right by a male charioteer, depicted in three-quarter view holding the reins taut; above, a winged Nike flies left crowning the horses with a wreath. The composition closely follows Syracusan prototypes of the late 5th to early 4th century BC, rendered in bold high relief characteristic of Sicilian-influenced Punic coinage. A palm tree is visible in the lower right field. The flan is irregular and shows characteristic hammered fabric. |
