Reverse description A double axe (labrys), the principal civic symbol of Tenedos, occupying the central field. To the lower left, a bunch of grapes; to the lower right, a draped bust of Artemis facing right accompanied by a monogram. The entire design is enclosed within a laurel wreath, lending a formal, votive character to the composition. The Greek ethnic legend ΤΕΝΕΔΙΩΝ appears in the field, attributing the issue to the citizens of Tenedos.
