Obverse description Head of the hero Diomedes in three-quarter right profile, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on his head, with elaborate curling hair visible beneath the helmet's brow guard. The facial features are rendered in fine Classical style with a well-defined jawline and eye. The flan is irregularly shaped, characteristic of hand-struck Peloponnesian coinage of the mid-fourth century BC.
