Obverse description Head of Tanit (or Persephone-Kore) facing left, rendered in a graceful late Classical Greek style, wearing a decorated headband and an elaborate sakkos or wreath adorned with grain ears, her hair arranged in tight curls framing the face and falling in loose locks behind the neck. The modelling is refined and high relief, closely following the Syracusan artistic tradition. A dotted border encircles the design.
