Obverse description Forepart of a horse prancing to right, rendered in bold relief with carefully detailed mane and musculature, occupying the central field. A grain ear is placed in the upper left field, serving as a secondary symbol. A Phoenician legend runs along the lower portion of the field beneath the horse. The composition reflects the hybrid Greco-Punic artistic tradition characteristic of Siculo-Punic coinage of the late fifth and early fourth centuries BC.
