Reverse description Deep quadripartite incuse square formed by two diagonal grooves intersecting at the centre, dividing the concave field into four triangular recessed sections of roughly equal size. The incuse is strongly impressed, producing a pronounced X-pattern within a square border, typical of the early archaic technique employed by Macedonian mints prior to the introduction of figured reverses. The surface of the triangular compartments is plain and unadorned.
