| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square of mill-sail (swastika) form, divided by raised bars into four recessed rectangular compartments of equal depth, characteristic of early Thraco-Macedonian coinage technique. The deeply impressed incuse design results from a plain or lightly worked punch applied to the reverse during striking, with the surface of the raised dividers showing tool marks consistent with hand-hammered production. No legend or subsidiary device is present; the entire reverse is occupied by this geometric incuse pattern. |
