Reverse description A Persian satrap or mounted warrior advancing on horseback to the right at full gallop, his right arm raised and thrusting a long spear forward in an aggressive martial pose. The horse is finely modelled with muscular detail, its legs fully extended in a flying gallop. The entire equestrian scene is enclosed within a prominent border of pellets (beaded border), a hallmark of Carian satrapal coinage of this period. The field is otherwise plain, with no legend or exergual inscription.
