Reverse description A deeply impressed incuse square divided into four triangular compartments by two diagonal grooves crossing at the centre, forming a characteristic mill-sail or windmill pattern. The four recessed sectors alternate in depth, creating a bold geometric design executed entirely in relief-intaglio against the flat incuse field. This early incuse reverse type is a hallmark of Archaic Greek coinage from the northern Aegean region, reflecting the technical conventions established in the late sixth century BC. The overall composition is contained within the roughly circular flan without additional legend or subsidiary devices.
