Reverse description Nude, heroic standing figure of Herakles facing front, his head turned slightly to the right, crowned with a laurel wreath. He rests his left hand upon a tall club set on the ground at his left side, while his right arm extends outward, holding a bow; a lion skin is draped over his extended right forearm. Two monograms (M) appear in the field to the lower left and lower right of the figure. The Greek legend ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ is arranged vertically in two columns flanking the figure to the right and left respectively, while ΘΑΣΙΩΝ runs horizontally along the lower exergual border, together reading 'Of Herakles the Savior, of the Thasians.'
