Reverse description A quadripartite incuse square divided by raised ridges into four recessed compartments of alternating depth, with two diagonally opposite squares showing a granular or rough texture and the remaining two appearing smooth and deeply sunken. This mill-sail or swastika-pattern incuse punch is characteristic of early Archaic coinage technique from the northern Aegean region. The incuse is deeply struck and regular in outline, occupying nearly the full flan. No legend or additional device is present.
