| Obverse description | Central cista mystica depicted in three-quarter perspective, its lid ajar with a serpent emerging and coiling upward to the left. The entire central device is encircled by a lush ivy wreath rendered in high relief, embellished with ivy leaves, clusters of grapes or berries, and floral blossoms distributed at regular intervals around the wreath. The field is plain and uninscribed, with no border legend. The composition is characteristic of the cistophoric coinage tradition of Asia Minor, with meticulous attention to naturalistic botanical detail. |
