Reverse description Apollon Iatros (Apollo the Physician) depicted standing facing, nude and helmeted, advancing slightly to the right, his right arm raised and holding a branch or laurel spray, his left arm extended bearing a shield decorated with a gorgoneion or similar device. The figure is rendered in a vigorous, early classical style with careful anatomical detail. The Greek magistrate's name ΑΘΗΝ ΑΙΟΣ is inscribed in the field to left and right of the figure, identifying the issuing eponymous magistrate responsible for this emission.
