| Reverse description | Athena's sacred owl stands three-quarters facing right, perched atop an amphora decorated with the letter M, rendered with characteristic large frontal eyes and spread primary feathers. To the right of the owl, a quiver and bow are depicted. In the upper field, the ethnic ΑΘΕ appears flanking the owl, with the magistrates' names arranged in two vertical columns to the left and right. The entire design is enclosed within an olive wreath, the symbol of Athens, with a crescent moon visible in the upper field. The composition follows the canonical New Style Athenian tetradrachm format established after 165 BC. |
