Reverse description Within a square incuse punch, a forepart of a bull advancing to the right, its body rendered with finely engraved parallel lines suggesting musculature and a shaggy coat. The head is lowered and turned slightly toward the viewer, with prominent horns visible. To the left of the bull, a vertically oriented kantharos (wine vessel) with a beaded or dotted body is depicted. The ethnic abbreviation ΣΑ (for ΣΑΜΙΩΝ, of the Samians) appears in the upper field to the right, incuse within the recessed square.
