Reverse description A labrys (double-headed axe), the civic symbol of Tenedos, occupies the central field, the handle flanked on the left by a monogram and a bunch of grapes, and on the right by a bearded male head, tentatively identified as Herakles, accompanied by a star. The inscription ΤΕΝΕΔΙΩΝ arcs above the axe. The entire reverse design is enclosed within a continuous laurel wreath border. The composition reflects standard late Hellenistic civic coinage conventions, combining the city's mythological associations with its principal emblem.
