| Reverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine Classical style with carefully articulated facial features and a wreath of laurel leaves encircling the hair. An olive sprig appears in the field behind the head. Below the chin, in two lines of small Greek letters, appears the engraver's signature ΚΡΑΤΕΣΙΠΠΟ(Σ), a rare instance of a die-cutter's name on a Rhegine issue. The ethnic ΡΗΓΙΝΟΣ is also present in the field. |
