Reverse description A rose in full bloom with stem and a single bud to the left, all contained within a square incuse punch. The ethnic inscription ΡΟΔΙΟΝ arches above the rose, identifying the issuing city-state of Rhodes. The letter Φ appears between the bud and the central rose, functioning as a magistrate's or mint-control mark. To the right field, a floral motif on a pecten (scallop shell) serves as an additional control symbol. The entire reverse design is set within a recessed square incuse, a hallmark of early Greek hammered coinage technique.
