| Reverse description | A trident with a long central shaft displayed vertically within a shallow incuse square, its three prongs visible at the top and a cluster of grape bunches hanging from the junction of the prongs and the shaft, evoking the mineral wealth and Dionysiac associations of the mint city. Flanking the trident on either side, the ethnic legend ΔΑΜΑΣΤΙΝΩΝ is inscribed in two vertical columns reading downward, with the magistrate's mark M E appearing in the central field. The overall composition is bold and heraldic, characteristic of Illyrian silver coinage of the mid-fourth century BC. |
