Reverse description Dionysos standing facing, head turned to the left, nude but for a chlamys draped over his left arm and shoulder. In his right hand he holds a bunch of grapes, and in his left he grasps a tall thyrsus. The figure stands on a ground line above which a monogram is visible in the lower central field. The encircling Greek legend ΔIONYΣOY ΣΩTHPOΣ MAPΩNITΩN — meaning 'of Dionysos the Saviour, of the Maronites' — runs around the periphery of the reverse field, arranged vertically on both sides and along the lower margin.
