Obverse description Female head, likely Tanit or Persephone-Kore, facing left in high relief, rendered in the fine Sicilian Greek tradition. The hair is elaborately dressed with flowing ringlets and wavy locks swept back from the brow, adorned with a wreath or diadem. The facial features are classically refined, with a well-modelled cheek and strong profile. A single pellet or jewel is visible at the neck, possibly indicating a necklace. The field is plain, with the design filling the flan to the border.
