Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with richly detailed, flowing curly hair cascading in thick waves behind the neck. The laurel wreath is depicted with individual leaves of great sculptural precision, tied at the nape. A monogram appears in the lower left field. The portrait displays the idealized, youthful features characteristic of late Hellenistic engraving from Aeolian mints, with a straight profile, slightly open lips, and a finely modeled chin.
