The figure is surrounded on all sides by a five-line Greek legend arranged to fill the circular flan, reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΝ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ, translating as 'of the Great King of Kings Arsaces the Illustrious'.
