Obverse description Draped bust of Tigranes III facing right, wearing the distinctive Armenian five-pointed tiara bound with a diadem. The portrait exhibits the characteristic Hellenistic royal style common to Armenian coinage of the period. A control letter 'A' appears in the left field. The engraving reflects the influence of Parthian and Hellenistic artistic traditions on the Armenian royal mint.
