Additional information

Mithridates II ruled for roughly four decades and transformed Parthia from a regional power into an empire stretching from Mesopotamia to eastern Iran — earning him the title "the Great" in his own lifetime. His bronze issues, struck across multiple mints during a period of aggressive westward expansion, circulated through territories freshly wrested from the declining Seleucid kingdom. Sellwood 27.7 is among the more precisely attributed bronzes in the series, cross-referenced in the Sunrise collection as 295.
